The Symposium provided an informative and stimulating forum for those interested in excellence in Orthopedic Manual Therapy based upon Geoffrey Maitland's highly detailed approach to assessment and treatment. The Symposium was dedicated to the memory of Geoff and to another great clinician and educator Bob Sprague, both of whom have sadly passed away.

The Symposium offered a broad overview of MAPS course offerings and the Maitland Approach as reflected in our highly regarded 3-day seminar curriculum. Participants were provided with multiple opportunities to improve their skills in Clinical Reasoning and further expand their knowledge in specific areas of interest using highly specific assessment and treatment techniques.

Participants had multiple opportunities to meet the MAPS Instructors, sample our curriculum and learn some of the latest EBM research in a fun, stimulating and intriguing environment.

Participants explored topics not currently covered in our core curriculum, and learnt how to better incorporate the Maitland Approach into effective and efficient patient care...a benefit to both their patients and their clinical practice.

COMTs earnt credit towards Re-credentialing, and investigated additional opportunities for professional growth through research, collaboration, mentorship, Fellowship, employment and more.

The Maitland-Australian Clinical Reasoning approach was presented in a varied format including:

  • International and US Faculty Speakers
  • Panel Discussions
  • Breakout Sessions
  • Fellowship, Mentorship and Research Opportunities
Mentorship, Networking and Fun
Participants had an opportunity to have lunch with MAPS faculty

The "Meet the Faculty" Cocktail Reception was dignified and fun

The Saturday Night Toga Party was far from dignified and a lot of fun

(many participants and Faculty have rather fuzzy memories of the Toga Party)
